By Car

From the M5 in Devon there are two main roads into Cornwall, the A30 and the A38/A390.
From West Cornwall the area is best reached by using the A390.

For Fowey

From the A30
leave at the Bodmin exit following signs for Lostwithiel and the B3268 / B3269. Take the B3269 towards Lostwithiel until reaching the T-junction with the A390.
Here turn right onto the A390 and follow signs for Fowey.
After about ½ mile take the first left, back onto the B3269, continue for about six miles.
At the mini roundabout go straight across, this leads into Fowey via Polvillion Road.

From the A38
at the roundabout after Dobwalls take the exit onto the A390 for St Austell.
Once you have passed through Lostwithiel, turn left onto the B3269 to Fowey.
After about six miles you will reach Fowey.
At the mini roundabout go straight across, this leads into Fowey via Polvillion Road.

From West Cornwall
from the west follow signs for St Austell and the A390.
Leave the A390 at the roundabout junction with the A3082.
Continue on the A3082 through Par following signs for Fowey.
At the mini roundabout take the last exit, this leads into Fowey via Polvillion Road.

For Golant

From the A30
leave at the Bodmin exit following signs for Lostwithiel and the B3268 / B3269. Take the B3269 towards Lostwithiel until reaching the T-junction with the A390.
Turn right onto the A390 and follow signs for Fowey.
After about ½ mile take the first left, back onto the B3269, continue for about five miles.
Turn left at the crossroads signed Golant.

From the A38
at the roundabout after Dobwalls take the exit onto the A390 for St Austell.
Once you have passed through Lostwithiel, turn left onto the B3269 to Fowey.
Continue for about five miles turning left at the crossroads signed Golant.

From West Cornwall
from the west follow signs for St Austell and the A390.
After St Austell leave the A390 at the roundabout junction with the A3082.
Continue on the A3082 to Par joining the oneway system at Moorland Road.
When the road splits stay in the left hand lane and take the next right on to Tehidy Road.
At the next junction turn right to go through Tywardreath.
Continue to the junction,approximately two miles and go straight across for Golant.

For Lanteglos and Bodinnick

From the A30
leave at the Bodmin exit following signs for Lostwithiel and the B3268 / B3269. Take the B3269 towards Lostwithiel until reaching the T-junction with the A390.
Turn left onto the A390 and continue through the town for about one mile.
Turn right into Cott Road and continue to the junction, go straight across into Lanwithan Rd.
Continue through Lerryn (approximately five miles).
Continue onto St Veep and Penpoll and up to the junction (approximately four miles).
The junction is on Lanteglos Highway, from here you can access all of Lanteglos.
For Bodinnick turn right and continue approximately one and a half miles.
Please note:
this route uses some narrow and single track lanes but is the most direct route from the A30, the route from the A38 below uses more main roads and may be preferable.

From the A38
at the roundabout after Dobwalls take the exit onto the A390 for St Austell.
At East Taphouse turn left onto the B3359.
Continue approximately eight miles, turn right signed Bodinnick, Polruan and Fowey via Ferry. After approximately seven miles is Lanteglos Highway from here you can access all Lanteglos. 
For Bodinnick continue approximately one and a half miles.

From West Cornwall
from the west follow signs for St Austell and the A390.
After St Austell leave the A390 at the roundabout junction with the A3082.
Continue on the A3082 through Par following signs for Fowey.
At the mini roundabout go straight across following signs for docks and vehicle ferry.
Take the vehicle ferry to Bodinnick, the cost for a single car trip is around £2.70.
On leaving the ferry go straight up the hill for Bodinnick.
Or for Lanteglos follow the road round to the left and continue approximately one and a half miles to Lanteglos Highway.
Much of Lanteglos may also be accessed by turning right for Polruan approximately three quarters of a mile after leaving the ferry.

For Lerryn and St Winnow

From the A30
leave at the Bodmin exit following signs for Lostwithiel and the B3268 / B3269. Take the B3269 towards Lostwithiel until reaching the T-junction with the A390.
Turn left onto the A390 and continue through the town for about one mile.
Turn right into Cott Road and continue to the junction, go straight across into Lanwithan Rd.
After approximately two miles either continue a further three miles for Lerryn or turn right for St Winnow and continue another two miles.

From the A38
at the roundabout after Dobwalls take the exit onto the A390 for St Austell. at the roundabout after Dobwalls take the exit onto the A390 for St Austell.
On the approach to Lostwithiel turn left onto Cott Road and continue as above.

From West Cornwall
from the west follow signs for St Austell and the A390.
Approximately nine miles after St Austell you will reach Lostwithiel.
After passing through Lostwithiel turn right into Cott Road and continue as above.

For Lostwithiel

From the A30
leave at the Bodmin exit following signs for Lostwithiel and the B3268 / B3269. Take the B3269 towards Lostwithiel until reaching the T-junction with the A390.
Turn left onto the A390 and continue into Lostwithiel.

From the A38
at the roundabout after Dobwalls take the exit onto the A390 for St Austell.
The A390 passes through Lostwithiel after approximately nine miles.

From West Cornwall
from the west follow signs for St Austell and the A390.
The A390 passes through Lostwithiel approximately nine miles after St Austell.

For Par and St Blazey

From the A30
leave at the Bodmin exit following signs for Lostwithiel and the B3268 / B3269. Leave at the Bodmin exit following signs for Lostwithiel and the B3268 / B3269.
Take the B3269 towards Lostwithiel until reaching the T-junction with the A390.
Turn right onto the A390 to St Blazey, continue to the traffic lights, approximately three miles.
Turn left on to Station Road and take the first left over the level crossing.
This will bring you into Par past the railway station and onto the one way system.

From the A38
at the roundabout after Dobwalls take the exit onto the A390 for St Austell.
Continue approximately 13 miles to the traffic lights in St Blazey.
Turn left on to Station Road and continue from here as above.

From West Cornwall
from the west follow signs for St Austell and the A390.
After St Austell leave the A390 at the roundabout junction with the A3082.
Follow this road past the docks taking the first right into Par.

For Polkerris and Menabilly

From the A30
leave at the Bodmin exit following signs for Lostwithiel and the B3268 / B3269. Leave at the Bodmin exit following signs for Lostwithiel and the B3268 / B3269.
Take the B3269 towards Lostwithiel until reaching the T-junction with the A390.
Turn right onto the A390 to St Blazey, continue to the traffic lights, approximately three miles.
Turn left on to Station Road and take the first left over the level crossing.
This will bring you into Par past the railway station and onto the one way system.
Contiune through Par approximately two miles, until a steep hill takes you away from Par.
On the hill turn right for Polkerris and Menabilly.
From here take the first right for Polkerris or continue straight on for Menabilly.

From the A38
at the roundabout after Dobwalls take the exit onto the A390 for St Austell.
Continue approximately 13 miles to the traffic lights in St Blazey.
Turn left on to Station Road and continue from here as above.

From West Cornwall
from the west follow signs for St Austell and the A390.
After St Austell leave the A390 at the roundabout junction with the A3082.
Follow this road past the docks taking the first right into Par.
Continue through Par and the one way system following directions as above.

For Polruan

From the A30
leave at the Bodmin exit following signs for Lostwithiel and the B3268 / B3269. Take the B3269 towards Lostwithiel until reaching the T-junction with the A390.
Turn left onto the A390 and continue through the town for about one mile.
Turn right into Cott Road and continue to the junction, go straight across into Lanwithan Rd.
Continue through Lerryn (approximately five miles).
Continue onto St Veep and Penpoll and up to the junction (approximately four miles).
At the junction turn right and after about half a mile turn left signed Polruan.
Continue just under three miles to the junction, turn right and Polruan is about four miles.

For Tywardreath

From the A30
leave at the Bodmin exit following signs for Lostwithiel and the B3268 / B3269. Take the B3269 towards Lostwithiel until reaching the T-junction with the A390. 
Turn right onto the A390 and follow signs for Fowey.
After about half a mile take the first left, back onto the B3269.
Continue for about five miles and turn right at crossroads signed  Tywardreath.
You will enter the village after approximately one and a half miles.

From the A38
at the roundabout after Dobwalls take the exit onto the A390 for St Austell.
Once you have passed through Lostwithiel, turn left onto the B3269 to Fowey.
Continue for about five miles and turn right at crossroads signed  Tywardreath.
You will enter the village after approximately one and a half miles.

From West Cornwall
from the west follow signs for St Austell and the A390.
After St Austell leave the A390 at the roundabout junction with the A3082.
Continue on the A3082 to Par, after the docks take the first right over the level crossing.
After the bridge you will join the oneway system at Moorland Road.
When the road splits stay in the left hand lane and take the next right on to Tehidy Road.
This leads into Tywardreath by the Church.

By Coach

National Express offers scheduled coach services to and from Cornwall.
For Fowey, Golant, Tywardreath and Par the nearest stops are St Blazey, St Blazey Gate and St Austell. First bus number 25 runs a regular daily service to Fowey near to these stops.

For Polruan, Lanteglos, Bodinnick, Lerryn and Lostwithiel the nearest stops are East Taphouse and Lostwithiel, from these stops you may need to use a taxi, please see our Public Transport page for details.

By Train

First Great Western, Crosscountry & Wessex Trains operate to and from much of the country,  including express services to London Paddington, Birmingham and Edinburgh.

For Fowey, Golant, Tywardreath and Par the nearest stations are Par and St Austell. First bus number 25 runs a regular daily service to Fowey near to these stops.

For Polruan, Lanteglos, Bodinnick, Lerryn and Lostwithiel the nearest stations are Liskeard, Bodmin Parkway and Lostwithiel, from these stops you may need to use a taxi, please see our Public Transport page for details.
