Fowey Christmas Market
Around the first weekend of December the beautiful seaside town of Fowey hosts a weekend of festive entertainment, food and drink along with plenty of opportunities to pick up some great Christmas gifts. Dates for the 2013 Market have now been confirmed. Beginning on Friday 29th November, there’s a BBQ on the riverfront accompanied by festive music. Father Christmas arrives in style by boat to meet local children and then leads a procession through the town ending up outside the church where the town’s Christmas lights will be switched on at around 7pm after which the evening continues with a Hog Roast nearby. Saturday 30th November sees the opening of the market, continuing on Sunday 1st December, you’ll find lots of traditional and Cornish traders complementing Fowey’s trendy boutiques and art galleries.
The Fowey Christmas Market has been an unqualified success since its inception in 2005. Fowey is a wonderful place to do all your Christmas shopping, with a fantastic range of unique little independent shops, great restaurants, hotels, guest houses, and above all, amazing views.
Combined with the huge range of seasonal products on offer at the Market, plus the many places to eat and drink around the town make this a Christmas shopping experience not to be missed, and due the success of the event over the last 8 years, the event is now split over two sites to accommodate the 160 or so traders who will be in Fowey over this spectacular weekend. Some traders will be housed in marquees on the Town Quay, and others at the Leisure Centre at the top of town
On Saturday and Sunday the Town Buses will offer transport between the the town, the Leisure Centre and the Car Parks.
