Golant Heritage Group is holding Golant's first Apple Day on 18th October. Free Entry.
Golant Village Hall between 10am and 4pm, events will include:
A display of named apples for tasting.
A display of locally grown apples for identification - bring along any of your own to identify.
Grand unveiling of the Cider Map and launch of our booklet 'The Apple Heritage of Golant' (11am)
Fowey Valley Cider stall with cider and vinegar for sale, plus free tasters
Haye Farm Scrumpy stall
Refreshments
Apple Bobbing and other apple related fun!
Competitions - Best Apple Chutney and Best Apple Cake - get baking and making!
Get creative - what can you create with some apples and a few cocktail sticks
Get Lyrical - compose an apple related poem
Please take your entries to the hall by 10am on the day
At 4.30 there will also be Cider Songs at The Fisherman's Arms - come to hear and sing along!
You can also watch cider pressing in action:
10.30am - 3pm at Tanhay (the traditional way)
2pm - 4pm at Fowey Valley Cider, Hybadore (the modern way)
Hopefully also hog roast/BBQ, apple rolling and tug o war (TBC)
