Golant

Lying about 3 miles upriver from Fowey, Golant is a pretty waterside village. Much loved as a stop off on a river trip, the village is in a stunning position hugging the banks of the river, the views here are tremendous. During the summer months the river and village are busy with boating activity but in the quieter winter months a great variety of birdlife can be seen on the water – egrets, cormorants, herons, kingfishers as well as ducks and swans. The village has a waterside gallery, a hotel and restaurant with 2 AA Rosettes for dining and a local pub serving real ales, the pub has regular entertainment including live music and a beer festival.
