This Month in Fowey
We have had a beautifully sunny and warm June, with many visitors flocking to the town for a spontaneous weekend away, we’re hoping this will continue through July! If you are thinking of coming to Fowey it is well worth booking your accommodation in advance, to get the best choice of places to stay. If you need any help with finding somewhere, call us at the office on 01726 833616 and we will be pleased to help
There are several guided river cruises this month, including a Wind in the Willows cruise to Lerryn on the 10th and 23rd and a Stannary cruise to Lostwithiel on the 12th, call us at the office if you wish to book. The boatmen will also be offering non-guided trips upriver and along the coast to Polperro so call us for more information.
The Boconnoc Steam Fair has become known as one of the best in the Southwest and takes place this month on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th and will feature everything from steam engines, vintage cars, tractors and motorbikes to commercials and stationary engines, also a beer tent, fun fair, trade stands, craft tents and helicopter rides make for a fabulous family day out. For more information see the Events page.
We are delighted that The World is once again returning to Fowey from the 29th to the 31st of July. It is the world’s largest cruise liner and is an awesome sight moored up in the harbour – worth a look!
Of course there is much, much more to do and see in and around the town – please browse the website for some ideas, come in to the office (next to the church) or call us, we will be delighted to help.
