Join us for the first ever Eden Arts Festival, three days of live performances, visual art and family fun.

Friday 8 September 
2pm-10pm

Day one of the festival is Proud Eden - a celebration of LGBTQ arts and culture. The programme includes the acclaimed West End show Outings, Lucy Le Brocq’s Drag King photo exhibition, and a performance called Beacons, Icons and Dykons, inspired by the spectacularly bad sci-fi musical The Apple.

There will also be an exciting line-up of talent brought to you by publishers Penguin Random House in association with Gay Times:

Matthew Todd, former editor of one of the UK’s leading gay magazines, Attitude, will be talking about his book Straight Jacket: How to be Gay and Happy.

Dean Atta, award-winning poet who was named as one of the most influential LGBT people in the UK by the Independent on Sunday Pink List, and Time Out have called "one of the UK's finest poets". 

Elani Evangelou, a singer-songwriter from Plymouth who has been described as "one of the brightest young voices on the scene... Her knowledge of jazz is already earning her fans wherever she performs". 

Toby Campion, writer and spoken word artist who has featured on BBC TV and Radio 4.

Zee Gachette (Z Star), a musician with a myth-like reputation who Jimmy Page has called "a force of nature".

Each performer will be preceded by a brief interview by Josh Rivers of Gay Times, including highlighting their most inspirational LGBTQ book. 

Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September
10am-5.30pm

Saturday and Sunday will provide artistic inspiration and fascination for all the family, from live music and theatrical performances to screen printing and drumming workshops.

Enjoy the dulcet tones of folk duo Katie Kirk and Rick Williams and a heart-warming acoustic set by Jamie Crowe and Kezia. There will also be performances by five-piece a capella group Vicky Abbott and Singers.

Come and celebrate the sea with Squashbox Theatre. The Sea Show is a quirky mix of tall tales, silly slapstick, fantastic facts, live music and songs. Saturday only.

Be transported to Southern Ghana by the Kakatsitsi Master Drummers, one of Africa’s leading drumming groups. Enjoy rhythms, chants and dances of the Ga people, and learn how to dance the ‘Kapnlogo’ and play the ‘Oge’ rhythm on traditional drums. Suitable for all ages and abilities.

Let Hotch Potch Performance lead you on their Tiny Tour - a family promenade performance combining installations, storytelling and stilt walking like you've never seen it before.

Don’t miss, Miracle Theatre’s film screening of Tin, a story of love, greed and opera in a Cornish mining town. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with cast member Ben Dyson and the director (Bill Scott, Sunday) or producer (Annie Ukleja, Saturday).

Be amazed by Jon Udry’s impressive juggling and comedy show: E is for Eden. Sunday only.

Join Aunty Emily from The Peoples String Foundation on an underwater journey filled with puppetry and music that conjures fun and laughter for the whole family. Sunday only.

Get lost in the world of Billy and the Minpins with live story-telling to celebrate our involvement in Roald Dahl Day 2017.

You’ll also have the chance to pull your very own, limited edition screen print with Kiwi Print. Inspired by the exotic plants in the Eden Biomes, this is the perfect little souvenir to take home from your trip to the Eden Project. Booking essential.
