As part of the Fun Palaces movement, Cornwall’s Regimental Museum in Bodmin is holding a FREE Music and Making day on Sunday the 8th of October, and visitors are invited to come along and try their hand in special poppy creation workshops.
We’ll have crafters on hand to help you make beautiful poppies from a variety of materials. You can take your poppy away with you or donate it to the museum so that it can become part of our Handmade Tribute to the Fallen Soldiers of the DCLI project, and will become part of our 2018 exhibition to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War.
Fun Palaces is ‘a movement promoting community at the heart of culture, with an annual weekend of arts and science action created by, for and with local people.’ Find out more about Fun Palaces here.
The 8th October will be a day of FREE fun, with our pop-up cafe serving hot and cold drinks and cake, live music demos, and hands on craft activities for visitors to try.
There will be live music throughout the morning:
Moor Harmony – Women’s Barbershop Chorus. 10:30 – 11:00 am. Visit Moor Harmony’s website or find them on Facebook and Twitter.
Songbirds – Cornwall based women’s vocal group. 11:30 – 12:00. Visit their Facebook page.
