Moving and truthful, yet witty and laugh aloud funny, the Truth About Men is a fearless exploration of masculinity and fatherhood.

Imagine Ian Dury with a touch of Stephen Sondheim.

The work has been directed and dramaturged by award-winning writer and director Nell Leyshon with funding from Arts Council England, BEAF, Activate Performing Arts, Lighthouse Poole.

7pm Seamus Carey Meets His 4 Year Old Self - With a Choir

One day Seamas found an old cassette tape in the back of his car with recordings of himself as a 4 year old boy, telling stories and singing his heart out.  Seamus has worked with director Agnieszka Blonska and choir leader Vicky Abbot to turn the recordings into 60 minutes of recompsed songs, performed by a choir of 30.  Seamas also plays piano, talks about growing up and occasionally dances.

Suitable for anyone who is a child or has been a child!

"'My 4 year old self' is a work of unique wonder.  fuelled by the domestic, it accelerates into the epic, careering into unexpected and thrilling turns... I came out feeling like I was part of the world; connected, moved and hopeful.  I loved it!"  Emma Rice, Artistic Director, Wise Children

Sunday with Kneehigh's friends

11am and 3pm The Urban Playground Team.  Zoo Humans

In ZOO HUMANS the Urban Playground Team brings David Attenborough's smooth narrative to a Kafka-esque reality in which a group of humans have forgotten how to move.  As they slowly become aware of the arificial world in which they're living they must decide if they'll choose to risk their comfort for freedom beyond the confines of a cage...

The Urban Playground Team is the original 2PK company, coining the phrase performance-parkour (2PK) to describe our unique fusion of authentic French-Free running with contemporary performance.

This morning performance will be followed by a 30 minute parkour workshop.

Running Time: 30 minutes

7.30pm The Rat Affair (& Friends)

You are invited to experience a rambunctious and soulful musical experience brought to you by The Rat Affair, a new band of musicians, theatre makers and visual artists.  Shifting between sensationally boisterous Eastern European folk and sparse reflective piano works, their new album, Rat, will be performed live for the very first time in The Asylum.

With support from Hearing Aid Beige (mesmerising vocal harmonies, geometric figures, dreamy choruses and pastel colours), and local students from the Rock School Project (at Roseland School)

Suitable for Adults and brave children over the age of 8.

Running Time: 2 hours with support acts
