Back for its second year is the Polkerris Beach alternative Swim/SUP/Run Triathlon. The traditional bike leg is replaced with a Stand Up Paddle board! So whether you’re a novice or experienced triathlete, this proves to be a different kind of challenge. The triathlon starts with a 750m sea swim, then you’ll pick up your SUP and jump aboard for a 1.5km paddle before returning to the beach where you’ll leave your SUP and head off for the final leg, an out and back run along the South West Coastal Path towards and across Par beach.
The event is open to both individual and relay entries. In addition to the team and individual triathlon events there will be a 5km SUP race event on the same day. The entry fee includes an event t-shirt and a silicone swim hat. Prizes will be awarded for 1st/2nd/3rd male and female along with spot prizes. All levels of competitors very much welcome.
On the same day as the Swim-SUP-Run alternative Triathlon we are hosting a single 5km paddle board race alongside the triathlon so people can do one, two or all three events!
The SUP will see participants start on Polkerris beach and paddle out toward Gibbin Head and back to finish at the beach. The SUP is ideal for those who are new to SUP racing as well as more experienced paddlers.
A limited number of SUPs are available to hire, if required please select this option on entering to secure one. Boards will be distributed at registration on a first come first served basis and you are not guaranteed to be able to select a board size
There will be a number of prizes available to competitors including 1st/2nd/3rd male and female as well as spot prizes, and each entry will also receive an event t-shirt.
