About

Who said women stayed at home while men went to sea? Join us in Fowey to hear expert historians talk about the women that shaped our seas and coasts and come on a free tour of historic Fowey and its harbour. Part of the Hypatia Trust's History 51 roadshow, in association with Fowey Harbour Heritage Society.
Fowey Library Saturday 7th September 10.30-4. This is a free event but places are limited so booking is essential. The day will include:
Dr Helen Doe on enterprising maritime women
Dr Leonie Hicks on women in the Viking world
A celebration of Lady Elizabeth Treffry
Town and harbour walking tour in the afternoon (sensible shoes please!)
Free tea and refreshments.
