Shell-ebrate your visit by decorating your own picture frame with shells and beach glass, or paint a ceramic coin-bank to start your ice cream fund for next year! Paint a bug house or make your own creation out of clay. Have you seen the tiny frogs at Wheal Martyn? Capture that memory by painting a ceramic frog flowerpot!

What can you make out of a portion of clay? Explore the outdoors at Wheal Martyn to forage for fallen leaves, stones and sticks and see if you can make a Cornish piskie, a clay face, a little plate or something else entirely! Creative self-led activity.

Art on the Menu Exhibition Date: 4th July – 1st September 10am-4pm
Discover Wheal Martyn’s fascinating new exhibition which tells the story of the shifting ceramics market in 1930s Britain.
This experiment started in the London Harrods store in 1934 with 27 artists including Laura Knight, Barbara Hepworth and Ben Nicholson, working alongside leading ceramic factories to produce affordable tableware for everyday use. The results were diverse and fascinating.
