Description: This summer, join us at Wheal Martyn in discovering the beautiful creations artists make out of Cornish china clay. Feeling inspired? Why not paint your own ceramic to take home with you? Choose from bird feeders, tea lights, egg cups and so much more. A perfect Wheal Martyn memento for all of the family. There is a small fee of £1 to £3.50 to pay for the cost of ceramics. No need to book, just drop in between 10.30am and 15.30pm. All ages welcome - fun for all the family!

Title: Clay Animation Workshop

Time: Workshop 1:10.30am to 12pm, Workshop 2: 1pm to 2.30pm and Workshop 3: 3pm to 4.30pm.
Price: £6 per child or 2 for £10. No charge for accompanied adults.
Description: Come and create a brilliant animated film about how china clay is mined and used in Cornwall. Create plasticine characters and make them come to life with the magic of stop motion animation. Work in small groups and use cameras and laptops to tell a story. The finished film will be ready to download from the internet when completed. Description: This week, Suzy and Lynn will be showing you how the clay landscape can be used as inspiration for drawings.The white pyramids surrounding Wheal Martyn are one the most iconic symbols of the china clay industry. Although they could be seen as just the spoils of the industry, the pyramids have become part of the identity of the area and a reminder of the importance of the industry. Artyology are offering a series of art workshops focusing on clay heritage, by exploring the site at Wheal Martyn, including the opportunity to make your very own onsite drawings. The art works produced will be exhibited as part of the White Gold festival on Saturday 21st September at Wheal Martynand installed on the clay trails leading up to Wheal Martyn. All are warmly welcome and the workshops are suitable for ages 8+, including adults. No previous art experience is necessary and you are welcome to attend all of the workshop in the series.
